Tickets are now available for the most anticipated women's fight in mixed martial arts history. Gina Carano and Cristiane 'Cyborg' Santos will meet August 15 (Showtime at 10:30 p.m. ET) in San Jose, Calif.
With both Carano (7-0) and Santos (7-1) struggling recently to make the 140-pound limit, their title showdown at HP Pavilion is slated for 145 pounds. Carano-Santos is scheduled for five rounds at 5 minutes each.
In the Strikeforce-promoted co-feature, lightweight champion Josh Thomson will put his belt on the line in a rematch with former titleholder Gilbert Melendez (15-2-0). They met in June 2008, with Thomson (16-2-0) winning by unanimous decision to claim the crown.
