roland garros final 2009

roland garros final 2009

In less than an hour Paris will host one of the most watched events in the history of tennis. Two great tennis players, Roger Federer and Robin Soderling will meet at Roland Garros for the 2009 Men's Final.

History is in the making here at Roland Garros in Paris.

Roger Federer stands on the verge of greatness today. Will the Swiss legend finally win the French Open to secure a career Grand Slam and equal Pete Sampras' record of 14 majors? Or will Robin Soderling follow in the footsteps of such Swedish greats as Bjorn Borg and Mats Wilander? Follow all the action right here.

Here is what was happening one our ago, at 1 PM Paris time.

Good afternoon one and all, and welcome to the men's final! The header says it all really - Federer enters the pantheon of greatness (that some would say he was already a member of) or Soderling continues his amazing run and takes the first step on the road to becoming the next Borg or Wilander? What do you reckon? Federer in four for me.

Most importantly, after rain was forecast, it's a glorious day here. Sunny, 20 degrees. Perfect weather for tennis!
