Gas prices continued to inch higher in Greater Cincinnati this week in advance of the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas was $2.42 in Cincinnati on Thursday, compared to $2.37 a week ago, according to the American Automobile Association’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report. One month ago, a gallon of regular gas was selling for $1.98 on average in Cincinnati.

In Covington, the price for a gallon of regular gas is up slightly, to $2.43 from $2.40 a week ago. One month ago, regular gas was selling for $2.04 a gallon in Covington.

Prices are still far below the $3.85 per gallon in Cincinnati and $3.86 in Covington that drivers were paying a year ago on this date.
