stark county board of elections

stark county board of elections

Stark County’s polls are now closed, and the counting of the ballots is under way.
The cards for the 1,400 touch-screen voting machines used today are being transported back to the Board of Elections.
Workers have begun counting the absentee ballots. There are about 5,800.
Earlier this evening, the board tossed out 215 absentee ballots ruled ineligible because they lacked a birthdate and other required information.
Turnout of about 20 percent was anticipated at the county’s 184 polling locations.
The only countywide issue before voters is the Stark County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities 1.4-mill levy.
Alliance, Tuscarawas Valley, Brown Local, Fairless Local, Northwest Local and Plain Local have school issues. And Canton and Massillon have contested City Council races.
