The big winner in Wednesday's $232 million Powerball jackpot drawing was sold in the South Dakota town of Winner, but a ticket worth $1 million was sold in Covington, lottery officials say.

State lottery officials say the big winner has yet to come forward but they plan to hold a news conference this morning in Pierre to offer details.

They say it’s the ninth-largest Powerball jackpot ever.

A dozen players came close to the big money by matching five numbers. They’re worth at least $200,000.

The Covingotn ticket was one of those, and since the player chose the Power Play option, the ticket is worth $1 million.

Powerball is played in 30 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
